私は気が付かなかったのですが(汗)、ディズニー+CMU+ETHでラボを開設というニュースがSIGGRAPH期間中に発表されたそうです(;^_^A

CMUの教授、JessicaがDisney Labのヘッドとなり、CMUはUIとロボットを担当、スイスETHがグラフィクス担当と
なるようですね。

Jessicaはモーションキャプチャと人体の動き生成の専門家で、最近はUIやセンシングに力を入れています。また、CMU Graphics Labを率いています。

プレスリリースにもありますが、

one of the lab's first projects will be developing methods for people to interact with autonomous characters, either virtual or robotic. "We'll be looking for ways to sense what a person is doing or thinking so that the character can respond appropriately," she said. "Whether the character is a robot or a virtual creation, the interaction issues are the same. We need to figure out what sensors to build and how to interpret and respond to human behavior."

最初のプロジェクトの1つはキャラクターロボットとの対話方法の開発
　・人間が何をして何を考えているか計測する
　・それに対してロボットが正確に応対(反応)する
　・どのようなセンサーが必要なのか、どうやって実装するのかが課題

アトラクションのロボットがこちらのリアクションを観察して行動するようになるんでしょうねー。魔法の国の魔法がさらに強化されるっぽいです。
